About Amanda

Greetings and salutations! It looks like you have found my little corner of the web – welcome, and please enjoy your stay. Remember that this is a non-smoking area and the emergency exit could be found in the little X at the top of your browser. Bags and other large items may be checked randomly, and always remember that if you see something, say something.

My name’s Amanda, and I’m a 24-year-old lifelong resident of Long Island, New York. I may drink cawfee and walk my dawg, but I do not worship the Gottis or drive a Scion. I have a penchant for hair bands, British accents, trains, chocolate, wandering around aimlessly, stupid jokes, the word “spiffy” and random Latin phrases.

I’m a journalist by trade and spend the day writing about ginormous buildings that most people can’t afford. My dream one day is to be a filthy-rich writer. I know, I know, I’ll probably end up being one of those starving artists, but a girl can dream. However, I will be famous one day.

I’m also a year-and-a-half cancer survivor. I had Non-Hodgkin’s primary mediastinal diffuse large b-cell lymphoma (say that five times fast) in the latter half of 2005, but I’m in remission now. I kick ass.

So, that’s me in a (rather large) nutshell. Thank you for stopping by!
