Pow, Pow

Remember Islip? Yep, the town that Money magazine rated the safest in the U.S.A. in 2005?

Well, I was walking home from the train station with Lexcie and my dogĀ at approximately 8:45 tonight when I heard a pop noise. I felt a sharp sting in my arm, then a burning sensation. Someone shot me with a BB gun.

Knowing very well which house it was, I called the Suffolk County Police Department. The cop was no help – he asked me if I had seen anyone shoot at me and where from. “It may not have been from that house,” he said. Well, hello, I wasn’t going to stick around to find out who was shooting at me, lest I get pelleted again! He said he would go over and check out what was going on, but something tells me he really didn’t give a rat’s arse.

At least I was wearing a denim jacket, which softened the blow. But now I have this huge welt on my arm.

Now I have to take a different route home from the station. Bastards.

First of all, I really doubt that Islip is the safest town in America. Hell, I don’t even think it’s the safest town on Long Island. But in any case, that’s ridiculous! It really infuriates me that the police around here don’t care at all and get paid insane salaries to sit around on their asses and pretend to do something. In fact, it reminds me of this article a friend of mine wrote about the Suffolk Police… you might enjoy it. http://aliciakennedy.wordpress.com/2007/08/06/officer-do-you-have-integrity/

This is absolutely insane! I once had my digital camera stolen at the Patchogue Bowling Alley and the officer didn’t even get out of the car (much less put out his cigarette). My dad has even worse stories of dealing with them lately… such as being taken out of his car and handcuffed because his window wasn’t working and he couldn’t roll it down. Somehow the officer was threatened by his opening the door to inform him of this.

I’m going to be working on a larger piece about all the shitty experiences I’ve heard about, so I will probably be back! Haha.

Also, did you go to Fordham? I feel like I’ve been here before…
