It’s Beginning To Look A Lot…

like Christmas. Everywhere you go.

Macy’s on 34th Street has finished bedecking its windows a week before the Thanksgiving Day Parade. I haven’t seen the side windows yet, but red-present themed windows and its usual Miracle on 34th Street windows facing – you guessed it – 34th Street, are complete. With the exception of the movie-based windows, the others were a lot better last year. I’ve figured that in a week or two I’ll do the New York City Christmas Windows Walking Tour.

Penn Station has put up its wreathes and garland, which always makes me happy, since the station is pretty bland otherwise. And as I stepped into K-Mart yesterday, all I could smell was pine, cinnamon and peppermint.

I can’t wait until all the Christmas lights are up in the city and around my neighborhood. Since I actually have a good camera this year – as well as a tripod – I’m going to try get some pictures. And since my house now has a porch and an easily accessible roof, I also plan to outfit it in lights. But it will look nothing like this!
