Ho hum…

Sophomore year is over. Wow.

I think I did well on my philosophy final yesterday. It was basically all we went over in the study session on Tuesday night. He even put the essay question that I knew by heart down, which was very cool. I’ll actually miss that class. Never thought I’d say that about philosophy, but it was pretty cool.

I’m not too sure about Latin American History, though. I took the test after not sleeping for 36 hours, so I was a bit out of it. It was two questions, worth 50 points each. Ouch. After I got back from the test, around 2:30, I went to bed, woke up for about an hour around 8:00 or so, went back to bed, and slept until 9:00 a.m. the next morning.

Rundown of my day:

– Went to lunch with Eileen and her roommate Allison
– Came back, Steve called, and demanded I go to lunch with him. I didn’t have any more swipes left on my meal card, but Francis was nice enough to let me in after I promised him I wouldn’t eat anything in the cafeteria. Had three cookies though 😡
– Went to the library to rent Heathers. Ran errands with Steve on Arthur Avenue. Went to bank to deposit his check and take out money. Went to card store to get Mother’s Day Cards. Steve realizes he forgot to take out money and tells me I had to pay. I had no money, so we went back to the bank, then back to the card store.
– Played The Sims while Steve went to the gym
– Went back to Steve’s room, then to Liquor Mart for cheap wine, back to Steve’s room, ordered Pugsley’s, visited Lisa while Steve called his girlfriend, back to Steve’s room, watched Heathers, listened to Steve rant, then Steve walked me home.
– Went to Tinker’s with Eileen and Joe. It was Joe’s birthday, but he still bought us drinks, nice guy. Decided I didn’t want to stay because it was smokey, overcrowded, and loud. Walked home through the Boogie Down Bronx alone.

So, I had a pretty busy day. It was all good, though. I hardly see Steve anymore, so it was nice to spend the day with him. We’re going to go the city on Saturday after he gets home from his final. He’ll also be around this summer, so that will be cool. Also had a nice long chat with Lisa… we hardly see each other now that we don’t live across the hall from each other… had to catch up on the juicy gossip! At least we’ll be living in the same building next year.

Tomorrow I have to pack. If it’s too hot in my room, I am going to go take a trip down to the city. I miss the city.

Two days until I go home.

Three down one to go

Monday, May 5th, 2003

I took two more exams today. Food Chemistry wasn’t bad at all, but there was a lot to write about on my Intro to Communication and Media Studies final. And it was a pain in the ass to write because I walked into a wall right before class and hurt my pinkie *sigh* It’s a hard job being a spaz…

Only two more finals to go, and the most detailed ones. I figured I’d work a bit on Latin American History tonight, then work all day tomorrow on Philosophical Ethics, then go to a philosophy study session at the library.

I can’t type with my pinkie. It’s swollen, damnit.

Only two more days and the stress is over. Then Thursday, I can spend the day in New York City! Woohoo, I haven’t been there in a while and I am suffering a horrible withdrawl. Maybe I’ll kidnap one of my friends to come with me. I think Steve will be the only one left at that point. Bwahaha. It’s such a nice time of year for going to the city… the weather isn’t humid yet, everything is just perfect. I think I’ll go down to the Village and get some sushi. Yes, that is what I shall do. Sushi is good.

Freakin’ pinkie. I’m going to take a nap.

Interesting night

Went out to Tinker’s last night with Eileen and Joe. I told Eileen, “Make sure I don’t have more than two drinks, my mom is coming to visit in the morning.” However, Joe bought two more rounds for us, then Eileen ordered a gin and tonic for us to split and I wound up drinking most of it because she was totally gone. She’s pretty funny when she’s drunk… I knew she was gone when she spilled her third gin and tonic on me then couldn’t remember five minutes later, then asked me if “Hello” was too many words to say to a guy. And she screamed at one point. Eileen hardly talks over one decibel when she is sober. Joe’s a pretty funny guy too. He’s an Irish step dancer and bought us the drinks, “Because I made a lot of money at my gigs.” Then, there was Oscar the Irish guy, who was throwing ice-cubes at the bartender, missed, and got me instead. He came over to apologize and made penance by offering me his Long Island iced tea. I made him talk to me just because I loved his accent so much. And I didn’t even get a buzz, which was very cool.

That was my second time at the bar. It was actually nice this time because it wasn’t crowded and no one can smoke inside now. Some people came from a costume party, so that was amusing, especially the guys in drag. Half of the Ram staff was there too. Good times.

Mom’s here and we’re going to the Botanical Gardens for breakfast. Then studying my ass off, which I should have done yesterday, the day before, and the day before that! Eeek!

“You might think I’m crazy, all I want is you”

Have you ever had a dream about someone which made you see them in a different light when you woke up? Yeah, so that happened to me. Hmm. I wonder.

Studying is not going as planned.

Eek.

*grumble*

I was supposed to wake up at 8:00 this morning but didn’t, due to particularly annoying circumstances throughout the early morning. First, Alumni South’s (dorm next door) fire alarm went off at 5:00, and this was after Thirsty Thursday, so there was a drunken party right outside my window yelling, “Bring on the fire, wooo!” Then, the lawnmowers started up at a quarter to 7. Who the hell starts mowing the lawn and landscaping at a quarter to 7 in the morning? I thought New York State had a law mandating shit like that. Guess not. Damn you, Fordham and the State of New York for not mandating morning lawnmowers.

Throughout the night I had weird dreams, because I kept sleeping on and off.

First dream, Aynsley Dunbar came to Fordham so I chased him down for his autograph and his picture. He was really nice to me and gave me a great big hug, then signed my Journey Greatest Hits Live CD. Why I gave him that CD, I don’t know, since he doesn’t play on it. I would have given him Journey’s Infinity instead. And I actually debated this in my dream. I’m such a dork. But he was really cute.

Second dream, I visited my cousin Adrienn in Arizona. I took the plane, and was there almost instantanously. I just remember being upset because I left my pajama pants at home and Adrienn didn’t have chocolate soy milk. She told me I needed to stop complaining and eat carrot sticks instead.

Third dream, Alyse and I were walking down my driveway and we see this woman with big blonde hair looking in our windows. I yell at her to go away, and she falls down and faints. Alyse and I pick her up and bring her inside, laying her down on Grandma’s bed. We found her ID on the ground, so we called the police to come pick her up. The police told us to get out of the house because she pulls the fainting trick then murders people in their homes. We hear her get up, so Alyse and I hold the door closed and she keeps banging on the door to let her out. She suddenly starts shooting at the door, and Alyse and I duck. I’m halfway across the room, but still holding the door shut, afraid she was going to shoot my hand off. I yell at Grandma to get out of the room, but she’s nosy and wants to see what is going on.

Fourth dream, my mom is cutting a honeydew melon and a canteloupe in the kitchen, when this Jehovah’s Witness comes in the kitchen and starts screaming at Mom that she had to get rid of all her friends, because they were making her sin. Then the Jehovah’s Witness offered to cut the honeydew melon into cubes for Mom, but I tell the Jehovah’s Witness to leave because my friend was coming over to cut the melon after she graduated from Fordham.

Ok, enough of my dreams. I have to go take a shower, go to see the (blah) Food Chem professor, eat, then meet Maria to study.

Gag me with a spoon.

How could I forget last night’s dream?

I dreamt last night that Fordham told everyone I died, but they didn’t know I went out. When I came back on campus I saw a security report that said I died and that the rest of the newspaper staff was missing, too. I was with Noah and said, “They’re in for a big surprise once they realize I’m alive. Why did they lie about me?” Noah said he had to go sailing and left.

So that was an *odd* dream… wonder what it means. I’m dead for finals?

Less than a week left to go…

Yesterday was the last day of classes. Personally, I could deal with not going to Latin American History, Intro to Communications, and Food Chemistry any longer. Philosophy and Cyberculture are still cool in my book, though. I didn’t think I would be able to say that about Philosophy, but my teacher this year wasn’t an asshole like last year’s teacher, who constantly made me feel stupid in class. That’s why I don’t participate a lot. I always feel like I’m going to sound stupid. That was the nice thing about ASJ… you can say stupid shit, and no one would care. Or else, no one would notice because they are stupider than you. Ah, the good ol’ days…

Yesterday was *technically* also the last newspaper day for the semester, but everyone was itching to go out, so we dumped the idea ’til this weekend and all went out. Although my night got cut shorter than I thought, it was still pretty fun. Me, Eileen, James, Annmarie, Chris, Eileen C., and Jess went to Kristen’s apartment, where we had margaritas with too much tequila because Kristen ran out of mixer. Also had a gross lemonade/vodka combo… it was room temp, so it didn’t taste right. Afterwards, we went to Howl, where the bouncer rejected me, Annmarie, and James. Since there was no way the three of us were getting in (even though I had Sarah’s ID), we, along with Eileen decided to go to Ram’s Lounge instead. There was a wait and a $5 cover charge, so we decided against Ram’s Lounge, then walked back toward’s Fordham Rd. to see if we could catch a taxi to Tinker’s. None of the gypsy cabs would stop, so we decided to walk to Tinker’s instead, which meant cutting back through campus. When we got back on campus I was like, “Forget it, I’m tired, I have a final tomorrow, I’m going to bed.” So I went back to my room and went to sleep. Good thing I did because I don’t think I would have been able to make it to my Cyberculture final today, haha. It was still good times, though… I definitely should go out more often.

Next year’s going to be a lot of fun, especially since I am rooming with Eileen and Allison. RAM party in Millenium 426, wooo. And Kathleen is coming to Fordham next year, which rocks my socks even more! And I’ll be 21, and life will be good, and everything is just going to be awesome. And Kesner will come visit.

Now for my final today. It’s in two hours and I haven’t studied yet. Heck, I haven’t even formulated a question yet. It has to be something I would like to learn more about the Internet that we haven’t learned in class. Hmm. That’s not much. I know a lot already. I’ll figure something out by then. Afterwards, I have a philosophy review session at the library. I’ll probably sit back and be the usual observer and let everyone else ask questions. I haven’t even looked at my philosophy study sheets yet. I just hope I did well on my last paper. We’re getting those back, eeek.

Journey concert in 10 weeks… wooooo! I need the break and Jonathan, damnit.
